Have you ever wished someone could help you and your health care provider figure out how to treat your basal cell carcinomas?
Basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) in Gorlin syndrome are not like BCCs for other patients. People with Gorlin syndrome tend to have more of them, and need care more often. Managing the BCCs that come with our disease is a common challenge.
Now we have a solution.
We are very happy to share that after a long wait, the new Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Basal Cell Carcinoma in Gorlin Syndrome is available!
These guidelines were made with support from Gorlin Syndrome Alliance (GSA). They represent a significant step forward in helping people with Gorlin syndrome get the best care possible.
Over 160 doctors from different specialties and most importantly, members of the patient community, have come together to develop these recommendations. These carefully considered recommendations shape care for the unique way BCCs affect people with Gorlin syndrome. They are the first that are truly appropriate for our community.
The guidelines were created FOR us, and WITH us.
We are especially excited that these guidelines are open access. This means they are free to everyone, including patients.
