BCCNS Staff Updates

Jean R Pickford

Jean joined the BCCNS Life Support Network in June 2017 as the Executive Director. Prior to her time at BCCNS, Jean was the CEO at the Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types, Inc. (FIRST) for 19 years. As a lifelong supporter of rare diseases and a passion for patient advocacy, Jean has managed their national office, located in Colmar, Pennsylvania, since 1999. Jean has more than 27 years of experience in non-profit, fundraising, marketing and fiscal management. Her compassion and positive nature serve her well in the nonprofit sector. Prior to FIRST, Jean was employed at the American Heart Association as Special Events Director, and began her non-profit career at the National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association of Delaware Valley as Assistant Executive Director.  Jean recently served a four-year term as Advisory Council Member at the National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Disease (NIAMS), a branch of the NIH and currently holds the Treasurer position of the Coalition of Skin Diseases.  Jean holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Bloomsburg University and resides in Towamencin, PA with her husband, Steve, and three children, Matthew, Kellie and Erika.


Madeline Miller

Madeline is proud to join the BCCNS Life Support Community as the Program Manager. Since graduating from Drexel University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication in 2009, Madeline has worked in the non-profit industry, expanding the mission of several organizations through her work in fundraising, communications, program development and marketing. Previously, Madeline worked at Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types, Inc. (FIRST) as the Director of Development. She has also worked for other organizations including the North Penn School District, Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern PA and Best Buddies Delaware. Madeline lives in Lansdale, PA with her husband, Brady, and their dog, Linus. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her niece and nephews and cooking.
